Social Work Practicum in Edmonton (Virtual)

Practicum Opportunity:

We are excited to announce that we provide virtual social work practicum in Edmonton for Canadian social work students. While our Winter and Spring/Summer 2026 placements are full, we are accepting applications for Fall 2026 and Winter 2027.

Company Overview:

Evaspare Inc. is a for-profit agency located in Edmonton, Alberta and provides coaching and consulting to therapists and counsellors starting, growing, and scaling private practices. As a for-profit organization, we focus on business and practice development.

Practicum Details:

This placement is:

  • An administrative and non-clinical placement in a for-profit agency.
  • Social work practicum in Edmonton but are 100% virtual placement, allowing you to work from home, with flexible hours. Note: supervision with practicum supervisor will occur between 9am-4pm MST from Monday to Friday.
  • Supervision will be conducted through video platforms such as Jane App and/or Zoom.
  • Practicum supervised by Kayla Das (B.Rec., BSW, MSW, RSW) in Edmonton, Alberta.

Tasks may include but not limited to:

This practicum is a macro-level placement focuses on:

  • Development of leadership, management, and business development skills
  • Identification of policy & regulatory requirements and application for therapists and counsellors in private practice.
  • Article and script writing for the distribution of content on our website or podcasts: Designer Practice Podcast, or Your Clinical Supervisor’s Couch podcast for the purpose of educating, supporting, and/or skill building for therapists and counsellors.
  • Research gaps in services for therapists and counsellors at any stage of their career (i.e. pre-university, university, and post-university experience)
  • Program development informed by research to help narrow gaps for our clients (therapists and counsellors)
  • Conducting and assisting with live and recorded presentations on various topics important to therapists and counsellors 
  • Advocacy on a macro-level for therapists and counsellors
  • Development of partnerships with external individuals, companies or officials.
  • Collaborating, coordinating, and/or working on projects with supervisor, team members, or other students.

Qualifications:

  • Practicum is open to Canadian bachelor and/or master level social work students.

Personal Qualities, Skills and Equipment:

  • Organizational skills
  • Independent and out-of-the-box thinker
  • Self-starter
  • Enjoy researching, writing, and program development.
  • Must have access to own laptop or desktop with audio, video and microphone capabilities.

Suitability:

This placement is ideal for social work students who:

  • Already have clinical or frontline experience and have a goal to one day open their own private practice, and/or
  • Want a macro-level/non-clinical placement that focuses on researching, writing, and developing out-of-the-box solutions.
