For as long as I can remember, I’ve been thrifty. Seriously, I’m the coupon-lady at the grocery store with a coupon for everything in my cart (sorry, not sorry).

But honestly, who doesn’t want to save money?

Here are 5 simple strategies you can use to save money in your private practice:

(1) Use Free Marketing Initiatives

Use free marketing tools to advertise and automate your private practice. From therapist directories to social media schedulers, they’re out there! By using free marketing tools, you are literally saving hundreds of dollars annually (and get more clients).

Use free trials, promotional codes or referral links for digital products or services. Most digital products offer free trials directly on their website or have sales various times of the year, others require referral or affiliate links from existing customers or affiliates, or simply searching promotional code on a search engine, if you’re lucky one will pop up in a blog or article. Last year, I saved almost $100 on a single purchase by simply typing in “promotional code {product}.”

This can include therapist directory subscriptions, practice management systems, courses or trainings, and so on. Using trials, codes and links help you (1) determine if the product is right for you and your business (2) save money or receive benefits for a limited time.

Did you know that Psychology Today provides new therapists a free 6-month subscription if they use a referral link from therapist on their site prior to starting the sign-up process?

If you’d like to have a referral link, feel free to email me at info@kayladas.com with your private practice email. Your referral also gives me a month free! ?

(3) Use an All-in-One Practice Management Software System

Efficiency and ease are two of the most important considerations when running a private practice. Although practice management software systems have a cost because they include several integrated features they save valuable time and money. The more time you have to spend with paying clients means more earning potential. All-in-one practice management software have a huge return on investment.

Jane’s Practice Management Software has been a lifesaver in my practice. Its many features offers a one-stop-shop for everything I need to run my private practice efficiently and effectively.

And Jane offers a discount for therapists who see less than 10 clients per week.

Jane’s special helper rate is not advertised on their website, but if you see less than 10 clients per week you can receive a $25 discount on a monthly subscription for 3 months with a possibility of an extension. If you’re still seeing less than 10 clients per week after 3 months, you can renew the discount by contacting them directly.

If you see more than 10 clients per week and want to receive a 1-month grace period, you can use my promotional code EVASPARE1MO.

(4) Shop for business supplies on sale

Purchase your business supplies on sale. I always shop for my business supplies during “Back-to-School” sales. Last year, I paid less than $5 for entire years’ worth of notepads!

(5) Eliminate unused services, subscriptions, or programs

Review your bank and credit statements regularly so you are aware of what you are spending money on and take action to cancel services, subscriptions or programs that you no longer use or benefit from. I do this twice annually.
