The secret to getting viewed on your Psychology Today Profile.

“I need to get more clients!”

I think we’ve all said this at some point in our private practice careers. I know I sure have (and more than once).

However, let me share a not-so-secret-secret with you to help you get more views on your Psychology Today profile. Ready for it? Create a hook that demands attention.

Create a hook that demands attention to get viewed on your Psychology Today profile.

Okay, let me backup. You may be asking yourself, “What’s a hook?”

A hook is one or two sentences at the beginning of your profile that can be seen from the results page on Psychology Today. You know, that list of hundreds (sometimes thousands) of therapists that show up during a search?

When you create a hook that stands out, clients are more likely to click on your profile to view your profile.

Psychology Today provides you with about 200 characters to create your hook. How you use it is essentially up to you. But what actually works may not be.

If you’ve been reading my previous blog posts, you’ve probably seen a theme: Create a Psychology Today profile that builds connection with prospective clients. (Check out the article here if you missed it: My Psychology Today Profile Secret)

Your hook is no different.

Clients are compelled to click on profiles that they think will have a higher likelihood of achieving the results they are looking for – a therapist that understands them. Like us all, clients don’t want to spend any more time trying to find what we are looking for than absolutely necessarily – so make it easy for them. Show them they need to look no further!

When you create a hook that resonates with clients their reaction is likely to be, “Whoa! I need to check out this therapist’s profile.” They click and boom – they found you.

Go ahead. Create a hook that stands out so your client can find you, click on your profile and learn more about what it’s likely working with you.

Then connect with me and share your hook. I would love to know if getting viewed on your Psychology Today profile becomes easier.
